Green Smoothie Cleanse Shopping List

I went shopping today for the cleanse this week. Today I bought: Mangoes Pineapple Apples Kale Spinach Coffee Mio Chocolate Almond Milk Vanilla Coconut Milk Raw Almonds Large 4-pound Bag of Frozen Mixed Fruit Steam-able Broccoli Steam-able Green Beans I already have enough canned beans, quinoa, and flax seed to feed an army so I didn't have to buy any. If you need to buy them dry beans are cheaper but I like the convenience of canned. You can also choose more vegetables if you want, there wasn't a large selection at the store so I just grabbed what was there. Also, I buy most of my vegetables frozen in the steam packages. If you would rather have fresh vegetables from the produce section or the farmers market, go for it. I bought all my stuff at the Walmart Marketplace because it's right down the road from my house. Most of my beans, quinoa, and flax seed are from Aldi. I do most of my shopping there but it's a bit more of a drive and I was in a hurry

Green Smoothie Cleanse Guidelines

Hi everyone! I mentioned in a previous post about going on a green smoothie cleanse. In this post I'm going to talk about some of the guidelines. Guidelines: I put guidelines instead of rules because some people have dietary restrictions, preferences, etc. So do what you can and if not, it's not the end of the world. For this cleanse you are not going to want dairy. No, I'm not just saying that because I don't eat any animal products. I'm saying this because dairy takes a while for your body to process and that is not  what we want to happen during the cleanse. If you want or need milk or creamer use plant milk or creamer. I suggest So Delicious brand but Blue Diamond, Silk, or any other plant milks/creamers would work as well. Do not, I repeat, do not  only have the green smoothies! If you do, you will feel as though you are starving because you are not actually chewing something. It's a good idea to have snacks if you are hungry. You will make one gian

What I Eat in a Day: At Home Doing School Work

Today got off to a slow start, I'm not going to lie. I spent most of the day doing school work, studying, and helping Jake prepare for his interview. Breakfast: First thing I do when I wake up is drink a large glass of plain ice water (no mio, sweet drops, sweeteners, etc) and then take my medicine. Then I have my breakfast. I was going so slow this morning so I decided to make coffee. I used to drink coffee every morning but now I only drink it when I really need it, and this morning I did. I realized this morning that we no longer had any creamer so I made my coffee by: Half coffee Half coconut milk Peppermint stick I tend to hoard peppermint sticks and candy canes during the winter and then use them throughout the year. They come in handy. I also had a plain white bagel with natural peanut butter on top. Snack : I had a snack right around lunch time as I was on a roll with school and wanted to keep going. I had some cashews which were delicious. Lunch : F

LASIK: Three Week Review

So on May 27th I had my LASIK surgery! I'm going to write the great, the good, the bad, and the ugly. The Day Of The morning of the surgery I woke up very early to make the 1.5 hour drive the where the center was. They said to make sure to eat the morning of because they didn't want the valium to make my stomach upset. I managed to get some nuts, granola, and some other snacks down. I was really nervous so eating a bit was hard. If I could do it again I would have eaten an actual breakfast! I didn't eat enough and afterwards I was very nauseous. When I finally got to the clinic I waited about a half an hour after my appointment time to be seen. I wasn't in a huge hurry just very anxious and the wait didn't help. I already new what to expect but I just wanted it done and over with. I was finally called in and we went over some paperwork that I had to sign, they made sure I knew about all the risks involved, I made the payment, and then they gave me a little happ
