Migraine, Migraine Go Away

I haven't written in quite a while because I have been having migraines pretty often. Ever since I was little I would have migraines but as I got older they became fewer and fewer apart. However, starting at the end of last year I started getting them every other day and sometimes every day. I went to the doctor multiple times and tried several medicines but none worked. That is when I tried to see if there was some home remedy that may at least help alleviate some of the pain.

I am happy to report that I am now migraine free (besides one small headache) for 18 days! I don't quite know what helped because I changed a bit in my routine and diet but I am going to keep my changes in place and hopefully my migraines will keep at bay.

Things I changed to help with my migraines:
Completely took out all animal products from my diet.
Upped my water intake.
Started taking magnesium supplements.
Had back and neck massages often.
Tracked my migraines.
Cut down on screen time (Instagram, Facebook, Email, TV, etc.)

If anyone suffers from migraines I would suggest that they download a migraine tracker app. I did and it helped me figure out my triggers, symptoms, and what helped relieve the pain. The app I am currently using is called Migraine Buddy.

Since I haven't had a migraine in a while I have been running more, been doing HIIT, and yoga.

Externship Update

It has been a little over a month since I started my externship! I have learned so much in the last 5 weeks and I'm excited to learn so much more. I really hope I get hired at my externship site. They have been hinting at hiring me and a few things have been said but nothing official has been said yet. If I don't get hired there I'm still thankful for the opportunity and am sure I'll get hired somewhere in the area. Since the externship started I have progressed more than I thought I would. Things I didn't think I'd be doing right now but am: *sending out samples for results *doing some callbacks to see how patients are doing *taking a client and patient to a room and then getting a history and TPR on my own *drawing blood *monitoring in patients and patients coming out of surgery I still have more ways to go but I am really proud of all my accomplishments so far. I will be publishing an official post once I'm done with my results but I just wanted

Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run

Today my husband and I completed the Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run! We got there at 07:30 bright and early. Before we went I ate a little bit of fruit and packed some things we might need (lots of towels, baby wipes, eye drops, snacks for afterwards, water, and electrolytes). I really enjoyed myself and it was empowering to accomplish it! Jake and I did it together all the way through. I'm so thankful that I have such an amazing husband that is so patient with me and helped me all the way through the event. The event was just short of 6 miles. It had over ten obstacles and included mud pits and a run through the woods that was very muddy! At the end we got some free water, Gatorade, fruit, snacks, and beer! I was very surprised but my Fitbit Surge held up pretty well! The only thing is when we got sprayed with water at the end, the force of the water must have hit one of the buttons and it turned off my Fitbit. That was as we were crossing the finis

Arizona 2.0

Since I've last posted there have been a few major changes and events that have happened. I have vacationed in the Bahamas, we have moved to Arizona, have bought a house, and have donated my hair. I've been meaning to update this blog for a while but now here I am watching Rome, drinking some cranberry juice, and typing on my laptop. Jake got a position in Southern Arizona as a contractor so we moved here and decided to buy a house. We looked at houses online for about a month before we found this one. It had everything we wanted in a house which was difficult to find. We did a virtual tour before deciding to put down an offer. It was accepted! Then we flew out to Arizona to walk through the home twice before going back to Tennessee and packing up all our stuff. After three days and both mine and Jake's cars breaking down in Texas we finally made it to Arizona. We lived out of a hotel for about a month. Because we were staying there so long, we received a special ra
