Some Positive Changes

It's been about a month since my last post and I thought I'd give an update as to my health with all my new changes.

So far I have now only been getting migraines about once every two weeks. They last less than a day and I can still do pretty much everything throughout my day besides heavy exercise. Yay! I feel like this is a huge improvement. Plus with me taking all the animal products out of my diet, supplements, yoga, and foam rolling, I notice the only time I get migraines now is if I don't drink enough water.

Lately Jake (my husband) has been saying how good my meals look and has been stealing a bit of food off my plate lol.  Plus with all the positive changes he's been seeing he has been requesting more of "my" meals now. My green smoothies have been a big hit.

My favorite green smoothie:
3 cups of water
4-6 giant kale leaves
2.5-3 cups of strawberries
1-2 bananas

It makes about 7 cups (56 ounces) and we usually have it as a meal. Sometimes I add in a different type of fruit instead of strawberries. It all depends on my mood and what they have at the store.

Lately I have also been running outside more. There is a beautiful running route near where I live and I have been loving running there especially since it has been so nice out here in Tennessee.

Now I will leave you with some pictures of my running route and my meals:
It's is so beautiful there.

This really is my favorite route.

A green smoothie.

Some vegan chinese food.

A small grocery haul. Look at all that kale and spinach!

Some vegan pizza. No cheese and every vegetable they have.

I have finally mastered the art of scrambled tofu. Jake even mentioned how good it smells. I'll have to do a blog post on how to make it later.

Fresh squeezed orange juice.

My First Day at GNC

Well today was my first day at GNC. When I asked for my days off she seemed understanding because I brought it up on the first day. However, my probation period is ninety days and I'm not allowed to use the cash register and I'm taking tests and training the whole time. So by the time I'm planning to leave and start working in a Fitness Facility I would still be on probation. I feel bad for only staying with them such a short time and them investing training into me. I'm wondering how long this will last. I plan to stick it out for a while and see how it goes. I'm not worrying about it because I know God has great plans for me and I just have to trust Him. I have applied for ten fitness facility positions on post this week and this weekend I will be applying to fitness facilities in the city that I am in. Hopefully something comes through and I can start putting my schooling and passion to use!

Mexican Cruise Day 1: Los Angeles, California

We left home Friday evening with plenty of time to spare to get there early Saturday morning, find parking, get checked in, etc. Before we left town we stopped at one of my favorite restaurants and got supper. After hitting the road we went through Tucson and Phoenix with no issues.  After a rest stop in Phoenix with bathroom breaks and stocking up on food and water we were set to drive across the desert with no stops for at least a few hours. About one hour into the desert (1am) we got a flat tire! A nail was left on the side of the road and punctured our tire. Thankfully my Dad was with us. Jake and my Dad managed to get the doughnut on the car. We tried calling AAA but there was an accident and the person coming to help us got flagged down by the police to help out.  After getting the spare on we tried finding a tire shop that was open 24 hours. There wasn't one within 100 miles! We drove to the closest one and then they had to help someone else out so n...

Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run

Today my husband and I completed the Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run! We got there at 07:30 bright and early. Before we went I ate a little bit of fruit and packed some things we might need (lots of towels, baby wipes, eye drops, snacks for afterwards, water, and electrolytes). I really enjoyed myself and it was empowering to accomplish it! Jake and I did it together all the way through. I'm so thankful that I have such an amazing husband that is so patient with me and helped me all the way through the event. The event was just short of 6 miles. It had over ten obstacles and included mud pits and a run through the woods that was very muddy! At the end we got some free water, Gatorade, fruit, snacks, and beer! I was very surprised but my Fitbit Surge held up pretty well! The only thing is when we got sprayed with water at the end, the force of the water must have hit one of the buttons and it turned off my Fitbit. That was as we were crossing the finis...
