The Back Up Plan: Penn Foster

In my earlier post I mentioned Jake and I having a back up plan. Originally I was applying for a federal job that would have helped Jake and I while he went through school. Well after getting several contingent offers they denied me because I'm epileptic. I'm using this as a blessing in disguise and am following another career path. Don't get me wrong I love being a Certified Personal Trainer but I also need something to help me and Jake as well. Jake has been suggesting for a while for me to become a Veterinary Technician or a Veterinary Assistant. After losing our fur baby last fall I would love to work in the veterinary field and help other fur babies and their families. I am starting school at Penn Foster at the beginning of next month (June) to become a Veterinary Assistant. Even before I graduate the program I can still work as a Veterinary Assistant. At most positions I will still be able to provide great health care not only for me and Jake but also for Lando. T

Making the Best: Previous Job Offer, Back-Up Plans, and LASIK

So a few things have happened in the last couple weeks: I turned 25, my job offer fell through, and I'm now having surgery. Part way through the day of my birthday (May 5th) my Husband had to work a 24 hour shift but we made the best of it. I went and picked up food and we ate at his work place. Some of the food may not be the healthiest but it is a great family tradition to start. Vegan non-chicken patty, baked beans, and grilled pineapple. On my birthday it was me and Lando playing in the yard. My job offer fell through the morning after my birthday. At least it wasn't on my birthday?.. I found out that it's because I have epi

Medical Check Up

The past two weeks have been pretty great! I've been trying to get a position in another career that will be great for me and my family. I've received two conditional offers so I pretty much just have to follow through with the hiring process. It's part time so I would still be able to focus on family, health, and fitness. Because I've been working to get this position, I've been pretty busy. This means lots of travel time. I have been traveling to job interviews, assessments, ect. that have all been in Nashville. I was thinking it was going to be somewhat difficult eating healthy while driving but it actually wasn't. I packed a thermal filled with delicious goodies like: cashews, dates, sandwich, Lara bar, bananas and applesauce. I did forget my lunch once and I learned my lesson. I stopped at Taco Bell since it was the only stop that I could see besides McDonalds and Burger King. I ordered some food with no cheese and they put every kind of cheese plus s
