Medical Check Up

The past two weeks have been pretty great! I've been trying to get a position in another career that will be great for me and my family. I've received two conditional offers so I pretty much just have to follow through with the hiring process. It's part time so I would still be able to focus on family, health, and fitness.

Because I've been working to get this position, I've been pretty busy. This means lots of travel time. I have been traveling to job interviews, assessments, ect. that have all been in Nashville. I was thinking it was going to be somewhat difficult eating healthy while driving but it actually wasn't. I packed a thermal filled with delicious goodies like: cashews, dates, sandwich, Lara bar, bananas and applesauce. I did forget my lunch once and I learned my lesson. I stopped at Taco Bell since it was the only stop that I could see besides McDonalds and Burger King. I ordered some food with no cheese and they put every kind of cheese plus sour cream on it. I asked them to fix it and they were rude and after the third try only one had no cheese. Normally I never have problems at any fast food (including taco bell) but I guess I had bad luck this time. After that experience I triple checked that my thermal was in the car before I left.

In other news, I had a medical appointment last week and my blood pressure has dropped! Last time I had it checked was when I was having chronic migraines (November - January). My systolic BP was just a tad over 120 then. I had it checked last Thursday (April) and it's now 90! How great is that! I lowered my BP by eating more plants and by exercising.

My migraines are keeping at bay as well. This means I can enjoy more time outside with the family, exercising, watching movies, and so much more.

Lando enjoying some time outside. I love being able to go out in the sun now that I am migraine free!

Externship Update

It has been a little over a month since I started my externship! I have learned so much in the last 5 weeks and I'm excited to learn so much more. I really hope I get hired at my externship site. They have been hinting at hiring me and a few things have been said but nothing official has been said yet. If I don't get hired there I'm still thankful for the opportunity and am sure I'll get hired somewhere in the area. Since the externship started I have progressed more than I thought I would. Things I didn't think I'd be doing right now but am: *sending out samples for results *doing some callbacks to see how patients are doing *taking a client and patient to a room and then getting a history and TPR on my own *drawing blood *monitoring in patients and patients coming out of surgery I still have more ways to go but I am really proud of all my accomplishments so far. I will be publishing an official post once I'm done with my results but I just wanted

Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run

Today my husband and I completed the Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run! We got there at 07:30 bright and early. Before we went I ate a little bit of fruit and packed some things we might need (lots of towels, baby wipes, eye drops, snacks for afterwards, water, and electrolytes). I really enjoyed myself and it was empowering to accomplish it! Jake and I did it together all the way through. I'm so thankful that I have such an amazing husband that is so patient with me and helped me all the way through the event. The event was just short of 6 miles. It had over ten obstacles and included mud pits and a run through the woods that was very muddy! At the end we got some free water, Gatorade, fruit, snacks, and beer! I was very surprised but my Fitbit Surge held up pretty well! The only thing is when we got sprayed with water at the end, the force of the water must have hit one of the buttons and it turned off my Fitbit. That was as we were crossing the finis

Arizona 2.0

Since I've last posted there have been a few major changes and events that have happened. I have vacationed in the Bahamas, we have moved to Arizona, have bought a house, and have donated my hair. I've been meaning to update this blog for a while but now here I am watching Rome, drinking some cranberry juice, and typing on my laptop. Jake got a position in Southern Arizona as a contractor so we moved here and decided to buy a house. We looked at houses online for about a month before we found this one. It had everything we wanted in a house which was difficult to find. We did a virtual tour before deciding to put down an offer. It was accepted! Then we flew out to Arizona to walk through the home twice before going back to Tennessee and packing up all our stuff. After three days and both mine and Jake's cars breaking down in Texas we finally made it to Arizona. We lived out of a hotel for about a month. Because we were staying there so long, we received a special ra
