Arizona 2.0

Since I've last posted there have been a few major changes and events that have happened. I have vacationed in the Bahamas, we have moved to Arizona, have bought a house, and have donated my hair. I've been meaning to update this blog for a while but now here I am watching Rome, drinking some cranberry juice, and typing on my laptop.

Jake got a position in Southern Arizona as a contractor so we moved here and decided to buy a house. We looked at houses online for about a month before we found this one. It had everything we wanted in a house which was difficult to find. We did a virtual tour before deciding to put down an offer. It was accepted! Then we flew out to Arizona to walk through the home twice before going back to Tennessee and packing up all our stuff.

After three days and both mine and Jake's cars breaking down in Texas we finally made it to Arizona. We lived out of a hotel for about a month. Because we were staying there so long, we received a special rate so we were able to get a suite that had a stove top, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, etc. Finally we closed on the house and were able to move in! It only took 25 days for me to completely unpack, organize, and decorate the house. Actually, one of the guys Jake works with said that I did such a good job unpacking our house that he is paying me to unpack his house lol. I started a few days ago so hopefully it doesn't take that long.

Now that we've moved in and things are finally settling down I can focus more on school and setting a daily routine. I will be doing a blog post later about our vacation in the Bahamas. It was so amazing, I can't wait to go on another cruise.

My First Day at GNC

Well today was my first day at GNC. When I asked for my days off she seemed understanding because I brought it up on the first day. However, my probation period is ninety days and I'm not allowed to use the cash register and I'm taking tests and training the whole time. So by the time I'm planning to leave and start working in a Fitness Facility I would still be on probation. I feel bad for only staying with them such a short time and them investing training into me. I'm wondering how long this will last. I plan to stick it out for a while and see how it goes. I'm not worrying about it because I know God has great plans for me and I just have to trust Him. I have applied for ten fitness facility positions on post this week and this weekend I will be applying to fitness facilities in the city that I am in. Hopefully something comes through and I can start putting my schooling and passion to use!

So Many Changes

During my last post I was still doing my externship at a veterinary clinic near me. Since then, I have been hired as a veterinary technician! I have been loving this job. It's been stressful but has been so rewarding.  My goals lately have been some smaller ones such as getting better at blood draws (I have hit 100% of my veins in the last 3 weeks!), triple checking invoices, and getting all my charts completed by the end of the day. When I feel that I have improved enough I will start training in surgery. That's my goal anyway. Then, once I start training in surgery and become a surgery tech I can start working towards my goal of becoming a critical care technician.  I have progressed in my career but I have also progressed in my personal life as well.  I have finally hit my goal weight since getting off my birth control and getting the Paragard. Now my next goal is to build more muscle, gain endurance, and become more flexible again. I have also started can...

Mexican Cruise Day 1: Los Angeles, California

We left home Friday evening with plenty of time to spare to get there early Saturday morning, find parking, get checked in, etc. Before we left town we stopped at one of my favorite restaurants and got supper. After hitting the road we went through Tucson and Phoenix with no issues.  After a rest stop in Phoenix with bathroom breaks and stocking up on food and water we were set to drive across the desert with no stops for at least a few hours. About one hour into the desert (1am) we got a flat tire! A nail was left on the side of the road and punctured our tire. Thankfully my Dad was with us. Jake and my Dad managed to get the doughnut on the car. We tried calling AAA but there was an accident and the person coming to help us got flagged down by the police to help out.  After getting the spare on we tried finding a tire shop that was open 24 hours. There wasn't one within 100 miles! We drove to the closest one and then they had to help someone else out so n...
