Mexican Cruise Day 5: Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

In Puerto Vallarta we went on another excursion! This time we went on a Kayak and Snorkel adventure.

We started off getting on a boat and getting a tour of the islands. What we didn't know and what isn't in the name or description of the excursion is that it was all inclusive. They served us drinks on the way out there (although no alcohol before water activities).

When we got there Jake and I went snorkeling. We were warned there may be jelly fish but after living in Hawaii so long Jake and I knew what to look out for... or so we thought. After snorkeling for a few minutes I felt what felt like a sting on my right arm but I thought the strap to my floaty cut my arm or something. So I keep swimming. After a few more minutes I feel a few more stings. I look over and what do I see?!?  TINY JELLYFISH!! I yell over to Jake telling him there is jelly fish and to get to the boat but he didn't hear and swam to me. Then we had to swim through a bunch of jelly fish back to the boat. By the time we got back I was stung at least 7 times and Jake was stung at least 5 times. The employees to the excursion got us some cream and that helped quite a bit. Good news! We were the only ones that got stung.

After getting stung by jelly fish Jake and I weren't feeling up to kayaking. So while the others kayaked Jake and I enjoyed an amazing sandwich buffet. I originally thought they were just going to serve pre made cold sandwiches but it was a buffet with lots of fruit and veggies too! I made some amazing veggie sandwiches, had a plate of fruit, and had a couple margaritas. After everyone was done drinking we headed over to the next part of the excursion.

We went to a beach and walked up to a waterfall. I had wanted to go swimming in it from pictures I saw online but the water was pretty muddy (I'm assuming it had just rained recently) so we just took pictures next to it.

After that we stopped at some shops and bought some handmade souvenirs. Then we made our way over to the beach. We relaxed and had some coconut water out of a coconut! Jake and I really liked this excursion. Even though we got stung by jellyfish we had an amazing time. That's how you know it's a good excursion!

Later that night we went to dinner where I was able to have minestrone soup and tofu steak! It was amazing! I had tofu steak last time I was on carnival as well and I haven't found out how to make it as good as them yet.

Externship Update

It has been a little over a month since I started my externship! I have learned so much in the last 5 weeks and I'm excited to learn so much more. I really hope I get hired at my externship site. They have been hinting at hiring me and a few things have been said but nothing official has been said yet. If I don't get hired there I'm still thankful for the opportunity and am sure I'll get hired somewhere in the area. Since the externship started I have progressed more than I thought I would. Things I didn't think I'd be doing right now but am: *sending out samples for results *doing some callbacks to see how patients are doing *taking a client and patient to a room and then getting a history and TPR on my own *drawing blood *monitoring in patients and patients coming out of surgery I still have more ways to go but I am really proud of all my accomplishments so far. I will be publishing an official post once I'm done with my results but I just wanted

Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run

Today my husband and I completed the Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run! We got there at 07:30 bright and early. Before we went I ate a little bit of fruit and packed some things we might need (lots of towels, baby wipes, eye drops, snacks for afterwards, water, and electrolytes). I really enjoyed myself and it was empowering to accomplish it! Jake and I did it together all the way through. I'm so thankful that I have such an amazing husband that is so patient with me and helped me all the way through the event. The event was just short of 6 miles. It had over ten obstacles and included mud pits and a run through the woods that was very muddy! At the end we got some free water, Gatorade, fruit, snacks, and beer! I was very surprised but my Fitbit Surge held up pretty well! The only thing is when we got sprayed with water at the end, the force of the water must have hit one of the buttons and it turned off my Fitbit. That was as we were crossing the finis

Arizona 2.0

Since I've last posted there have been a few major changes and events that have happened. I have vacationed in the Bahamas, we have moved to Arizona, have bought a house, and have donated my hair. I've been meaning to update this blog for a while but now here I am watching Rome, drinking some cranberry juice, and typing on my laptop. Jake got a position in Southern Arizona as a contractor so we moved here and decided to buy a house. We looked at houses online for about a month before we found this one. It had everything we wanted in a house which was difficult to find. We did a virtual tour before deciding to put down an offer. It was accepted! Then we flew out to Arizona to walk through the home twice before going back to Tennessee and packing up all our stuff. After three days and both mine and Jake's cars breaking down in Texas we finally made it to Arizona. We lived out of a hotel for about a month. Because we were staying there so long, we received a special ra
