Worry Free, Healthy Me

This week we have had some amazing weather! Sometimes I absolutely LOVE living in Arizona. Monday I spent a majority of the day cleaning, studying, and then spending time with Lando outside. I have only taken Evy out one time and she was small enough to slide out of her harness. So until she gets a little bigger she will be staying inside for now. For supper I made Chinese food. That means brown rice, steamed veggies, vegetable spring rolls, and some orange chicken for Jake. I was going to make some orange tofu but I couldn't find a block of tofu anywhere in the fridge. Tuesday was Evy's first vet appointment! We had a wellness check up and then we had a blood draw and had her tested for FIV/FeLV. She did so well at the vet. Well I started this recap post a while ago but never actually finished it. So while I'm sitting here sipping on some water I'm finishing up this post from the week of 9 January 2017. Monday, Jake and I went running. We haven't been running in what seems like forever so it was a bit tough. Part way through we wanted to quit but we stuck with it. The trail that we went on was beautiful. That night I made some homemade minestrone soup. Super healthy and nutritious! Somehow the recipe made double the amount it said it was going to so I had soup for the rest of the week. Tuesday I spent most of my time trying to catch up on schoolwork. I went over the reproduction systems in detail. It's not too exciting... but it'll be worth it in the end. I kept getting distracted and found myself looking stuff up on line. This past week has been great. After all it's the start of the Christmas season! What more could you ask for? :) This past week I started volunteering at the shelter. I started on Tuesday. It was a bit chilly out but after walking two miles I was warmed up. I walked a dog named Pebbles both days I was there. She's such a sweet old lady. <3 I ordered a heated cat house on Amazon for Cyber Monday and it came in the mail on Wednesday! I'm still trying to get our little stray kitty to get used to it. She (or he) is very skittish and not trusting of humans so I figured any new addition to our patio was going to take some time. She will go inside to get her food though so I've been putting her food in there right before she comes at night so she can at least eat her food and get some warmth.
