Running, Coffee, and Trying New Recipes

Well I started this recap post a while ago but never actually finished it. So while I'm sitting here sipping on some water I'm finishing up this post from the week of 9 January 2017.

Monday, Jake and I went running. We haven't been running in what seems like forever so it was a bit tough. Part way through we wanted to quit but we stuck with it. The trail that we went on was beautiful.

That night I made some homemade minestrone soup. Super healthy and nutritious! Somehow the recipe made double the amount it said it was going to so I had soup for the rest of the week.

Tuesday I spent most of my time trying to catch up on schoolwork. I went over the reproduction systems in detail. It's not too exciting... but it'll be worth it in the end. I kept getting distracted and found myself looking stuff up on line. Somehow I wound up on Bisbee's website and made a date for Jake and I.

Wednesday I was so tired in the morning so I made some coffee which is something I don't often do. I ran some errands including getting supper, getting Lando's prescription wet food and dry food, and paying some bills.

After errands I went home, took out the recycling, and then started working on my study guide.

I took a break for a bit to play with Lando. I actually got through the entire section of Fertilization, Pregnancy, and Birth! I even got the Self Check done for that section. I was pretty proud of myself.

Our little stray kitty is finally starting to get interested in the heated house we bought her (or him)!

I spent most of Thursday at home. I did go out for a run and enjoy some iced coffee afterwards. I haven't had iced coffee for a while so it was a nice treat.

Later that night I spent time playing with Lando and then tried a new recipe. It was a zucchini casserole dish. It wasn't that great and Jake voted it for a two thumbs down so I won't be sharing the recipe.

That weekend I spent time with with Jake and Lando. It was nice and relaxing just spending time together.

My First Day at GNC

Well today was my first day at GNC. When I asked for my days off she seemed understanding because I brought it up on the first day. However, my probation period is ninety days and I'm not allowed to use the cash register and I'm taking tests and training the whole time. So by the time I'm planning to leave and start working in a Fitness Facility I would still be on probation. I feel bad for only staying with them such a short time and them investing training into me. I'm wondering how long this will last. I plan to stick it out for a while and see how it goes. I'm not worrying about it because I know God has great plans for me and I just have to trust Him. I have applied for ten fitness facility positions on post this week and this weekend I will be applying to fitness facilities in the city that I am in. Hopefully something comes through and I can start putting my schooling and passion to use!

Mexican Cruise Day 1: Los Angeles, California

We left home Friday evening with plenty of time to spare to get there early Saturday morning, find parking, get checked in, etc. Before we left town we stopped at one of my favorite restaurants and got supper. After hitting the road we went through Tucson and Phoenix with no issues.  After a rest stop in Phoenix with bathroom breaks and stocking up on food and water we were set to drive across the desert with no stops for at least a few hours. About one hour into the desert (1am) we got a flat tire! A nail was left on the side of the road and punctured our tire. Thankfully my Dad was with us. Jake and my Dad managed to get the doughnut on the car. We tried calling AAA but there was an accident and the person coming to help us got flagged down by the police to help out.  After getting the spare on we tried finding a tire shop that was open 24 hours. There wasn't one within 100 miles! We drove to the closest one and then they had to help someone else out so n...

Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run

Today my husband and I completed the Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run! We got there at 07:30 bright and early. Before we went I ate a little bit of fruit and packed some things we might need (lots of towels, baby wipes, eye drops, snacks for afterwards, water, and electrolytes). I really enjoyed myself and it was empowering to accomplish it! Jake and I did it together all the way through. I'm so thankful that I have such an amazing husband that is so patient with me and helped me all the way through the event. The event was just short of 6 miles. It had over ten obstacles and included mud pits and a run through the woods that was very muddy! At the end we got some free water, Gatorade, fruit, snacks, and beer! I was very surprised but my Fitbit Surge held up pretty well! The only thing is when we got sprayed with water at the end, the force of the water must have hit one of the buttons and it turned off my Fitbit. That was as we were crossing the finis...
