Yard Work, Getting the House Guest Ready, and Running

I'm siting here Friday morning eating fresh fruit, drinking some iced vanilla coffee, and writing this post. This past week has been pretty productive but I feel like it has went by too fast. I still have more stuff to get done before all of our guests come next month but I'm sure I'll get that done this weekend and next week. Last Friday I started work out the yard. I spent almost all morning pulling weeds and replacing the light bulbs out front. For us living in the desert we had a bunch of weeds! Saturday I spent the day cleaning the house and then Jake and I went out on a double date. I also started to trim back the palm trees but I didn't have the right tools for it. It took a while to do it and I didn't even get all of one palm tree done. Sunday was mine and Jake's lazy day. We spent the day playing Mass Effect and cuddling with the kitties. Monday I got back into school, picked up the house, and I eve...

Running, Favorite Running Playlists, and Kitty Cuddles

So here I am drinking some coffee and trying to catch up on my recap posts. I'm trying to catch up on school but I still want to be doing these posts so I can look back and remember this year.  Last week (week of 17 January 2017) was a pretty good week. I've been keeping up with my running, my workouts, and I got all the Christmas decorations down and decorated the house for Valentine's Day! Tuesday I decided to go for a run. Although I have Amazon Prime Music, I still love running to Spotify's running playlists because it detects your steps per minute and gives you great music that matches your pace. My favorite palm tree in the neighborhood is so magnificently tall. You can't really tell in this picture how tall it is though. After the run Lando wanted to go outside with me on the front porch while I had my protein shake. Later that night I decided to take down the upstairs Christmas tree. Lando wasn't having it. He...

Running, Coffee, and Trying New Recipes

Well I started this recap post a while ago but never actually finished it. So while I'm sitting here sipping on some water I'm finishing up this post from the week of 9 January 2017. Monday, Jake and I went running. We haven't been running in what seems like forever so it was a bit tough. Part way through we wanted to quit but we stuck with it. The trail that we went on was beautiful. That night I made some homemade minestrone soup. Super healthy and nutritious! Somehow the recipe made double the amount it said it was going to so I had soup for the rest of the week. Tuesday I spent most of my time trying to catch up on schoolwork. I went over the reproduction systems in detail. It's not too exciting... but it'll be worth it in the end. I kept getting distracted and found myself looking stuff up on line. Somehow I wound up on Bisbee's website and made a date for Jake and I.  Wednesday I was so tired in ...
