Yard Work, Getting the House Guest Ready, and Running

I'm siting here Friday morning eating fresh fruit, drinking some iced vanilla coffee, and writing this post. This past week has been pretty productive but I feel like it has went by too fast. I still have more stuff to get done before all of our guests come next month but I'm sure I'll get that done this weekend and next week.

Last Friday I started work out the yard. I spent almost all morning pulling weeds and replacing the light bulbs out front. For us living in the desert we had a bunch of weeds!

Saturday I spent the day cleaning the house and then Jake and I went out on a double date. I also started to trim back the palm trees but I didn't have the right tools for it. It took a while to do it and I didn't even get all of one palm tree done.

Sunday was mine and Jake's lazy day. We spent the day playing Mass Effect and cuddling with the kitties.

Monday I got back into school, picked up the house, and I even got my first Today's Veterinary Technician in the mail!

Tuesday I spent some time on our balcony doing school work. Lando wanted  to come out and spend time with me so I put a lead up there and attached him to it.

Later I went for a run. I didn't really want to run outside so I went on the treadmill. I also found a new playlist to listen to while I run! I downloaded it on my phone so that I would be able to listen to it on vacation.

Wednesday I wasn't really feeling like doing schoolwork. What I love about doing online school is that you can do it on your schedule. So if I don't feel like I'm going to be really productive doing it I don't have to. I can do something else instead and be productive with that. I ended up making and printing out packing lists, packed most of my clothes, made luggage tags, laminated them, and labeled my luggage and carry on.

Later that night Jake and I went for a run while the sun was setting. It was beautiful.

Late Wednesday night I got some tools in the mail to be able to trim the palm trees back and trim our large tree in the front yard. Friday morning I got to work on finishing up our front and side yards. Everything is so much easier if you have the right tools! The palm trees lining the drive way actually look like trees and not bushes and our large tree out front is looking pretty nice too. That afternoon Jake and I went out for food at my favorite mexican restaurant and then we looked at cars for a bit. We're probably going to trade his in so we've been looking around.

This weekend I hope to finish getting the house guest ready.

Externship Update

It has been a little over a month since I started my externship! I have learned so much in the last 5 weeks and I'm excited to learn so much more. I really hope I get hired at my externship site. They have been hinting at hiring me and a few things have been said but nothing official has been said yet. If I don't get hired there I'm still thankful for the opportunity and am sure I'll get hired somewhere in the area. Since the externship started I have progressed more than I thought I would. Things I didn't think I'd be doing right now but am: *sending out samples for results *doing some callbacks to see how patients are doing *taking a client and patient to a room and then getting a history and TPR on my own *drawing blood *monitoring in patients and patients coming out of surgery I still have more ways to go but I am really proud of all my accomplishments so far. I will be publishing an official post once I'm done with my results but I just wanted

Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run

Today my husband and I completed the Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run! We got there at 07:30 bright and early. Before we went I ate a little bit of fruit and packed some things we might need (lots of towels, baby wipes, eye drops, snacks for afterwards, water, and electrolytes). I really enjoyed myself and it was empowering to accomplish it! Jake and I did it together all the way through. I'm so thankful that I have such an amazing husband that is so patient with me and helped me all the way through the event. The event was just short of 6 miles. It had over ten obstacles and included mud pits and a run through the woods that was very muddy! At the end we got some free water, Gatorade, fruit, snacks, and beer! I was very surprised but my Fitbit Surge held up pretty well! The only thing is when we got sprayed with water at the end, the force of the water must have hit one of the buttons and it turned off my Fitbit. That was as we were crossing the finis

Arizona 2.0

Since I've last posted there have been a few major changes and events that have happened. I have vacationed in the Bahamas, we have moved to Arizona, have bought a house, and have donated my hair. I've been meaning to update this blog for a while but now here I am watching Rome, drinking some cranberry juice, and typing on my laptop. Jake got a position in Southern Arizona as a contractor so we moved here and decided to buy a house. We looked at houses online for about a month before we found this one. It had everything we wanted in a house which was difficult to find. We did a virtual tour before deciding to put down an offer. It was accepted! Then we flew out to Arizona to walk through the home twice before going back to Tennessee and packing up all our stuff. After three days and both mine and Jake's cars breaking down in Texas we finally made it to Arizona. We lived out of a hotel for about a month. Because we were staying there so long, we received a special ra
