Making Smoothies, Having a Cold, and Passing My Exam

Let's take this post back to last Friday, March the 17th.

I started to feel a little sick Thursday night but not bad. When I woke up on Friday I felt miserable. Fever, sweats, chills, aches, you name it. I remained that way until part way through Saturday when I started to feel a little better and my fever went away.

By Sunday I still felt sick with a stuffy nose and a little achy but in general I felt much better. I got up, showered, and took care of the house after it being neglected for the last couple days. I even went outside for some fresh air after getting the dishes done. I ended up finally taking my exam that I wanted to take on Friday and I got 100%! The rest of the night I cleaned up the house, did some laundry, made supper and then relaxed before bed.

Monday was a great start to my week! It felt like I had a bit of a cold and I had a little headache but I was pretty productive. I had breakfast outside while I read an article on intuitive eating. I made the smoothies Sunday night right before bed and put them in glass bottles in the fridge so they would be ready for Monday. I took care of all my errands including bills, mailing stuff out, and picking up a few things that we need for around the house. It was really warm which was great because it was the first day of spring! After running errands I made a PB&J and drank a bit of water. Then I made my way outside to start my new unit "Wound Care and Management". I got half way through the unit before I went inside to start on some of the house work.

I sat outside for a bit waiting for the mail to come but realized I was probably burning so I went inside. Finally the mail came and Jake's Qalo ring was delivered!

After the mail came I got started on supper which was Chinese. That's not that big of a surprise since I make Chinese every Monday and probably one other day a week.

After supper I got Jake ready for work, the fur babies ready for bed, and I did my yoga and went to bed.

I woke up a little earlier than usual Tuesday. I'm trying to start waking up earlier and earlier so I can get more stuff done before it gets too hot. I got up, fed the fur babies their breakfast, put away some clothes and towels, started some laundry, and brought my breakfast outside.

I read an article in the fitness journal I got from ACE and ate a Clif bar while I had a green tea fruit smoothie.

Later, I took my exam and passed with a 95%. I started Clinical Parasitology and then I finished the day with a workout on my bike.

Wednesday and Thursday I didn't do much besides clean the house, did my schoolwork, and then looked after my furbabies. They loved going outside.

Externship Update

It has been a little over a month since I started my externship! I have learned so much in the last 5 weeks and I'm excited to learn so much more. I really hope I get hired at my externship site. They have been hinting at hiring me and a few things have been said but nothing official has been said yet. If I don't get hired there I'm still thankful for the opportunity and am sure I'll get hired somewhere in the area. Since the externship started I have progressed more than I thought I would. Things I didn't think I'd be doing right now but am: *sending out samples for results *doing some callbacks to see how patients are doing *taking a client and patient to a room and then getting a history and TPR on my own *drawing blood *monitoring in patients and patients coming out of surgery I still have more ways to go but I am really proud of all my accomplishments so far. I will be publishing an official post once I'm done with my results but I just wanted

Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run

Today my husband and I completed the Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run! We got there at 07:30 bright and early. Before we went I ate a little bit of fruit and packed some things we might need (lots of towels, baby wipes, eye drops, snacks for afterwards, water, and electrolytes). I really enjoyed myself and it was empowering to accomplish it! Jake and I did it together all the way through. I'm so thankful that I have such an amazing husband that is so patient with me and helped me all the way through the event. The event was just short of 6 miles. It had over ten obstacles and included mud pits and a run through the woods that was very muddy! At the end we got some free water, Gatorade, fruit, snacks, and beer! I was very surprised but my Fitbit Surge held up pretty well! The only thing is when we got sprayed with water at the end, the force of the water must have hit one of the buttons and it turned off my Fitbit. That was as we were crossing the finis

Arizona 2.0

Since I've last posted there have been a few major changes and events that have happened. I have vacationed in the Bahamas, we have moved to Arizona, have bought a house, and have donated my hair. I've been meaning to update this blog for a while but now here I am watching Rome, drinking some cranberry juice, and typing on my laptop. Jake got a position in Southern Arizona as a contractor so we moved here and decided to buy a house. We looked at houses online for about a month before we found this one. It had everything we wanted in a house which was difficult to find. We did a virtual tour before deciding to put down an offer. It was accepted! Then we flew out to Arizona to walk through the home twice before going back to Tennessee and packing up all our stuff. After three days and both mine and Jake's cars breaking down in Texas we finally made it to Arizona. We lived out of a hotel for about a month. Because we were staying there so long, we received a special ra
