Thanksgiving Week and Black Friday Traditions

I hope everyone had a happy Thanksgiving! Even though last week was Thanksgiving it was still very productive.

Lando's cat grass finally grew back. His old grass was getting old so I tossed it and grew a new batch. He was so happy to have his grass back again!

Monday morning was pretty cold so I decided to go on a walk. I love walking or running in cold weather. The sun coming through the clouds was so beautiful. It started to rain just as I turned the corner to get on my street. Talk about good timing!

Hobby Lobby was having a great sale on trees. This one is much nicer than the ones I was looking at at Walmart and it was cheaper too! It was a bit difficult to get into my car but one of the employees helped me out.

Tuesday I went to the shelter to see if the had any applications for me to fill out for a volunteer position. I filled one out, talked the person who was head of volunteering and I start next Tuesday (29 of November)! I'm so excited!

Wednesday it was a bit chilly again so I decided to go for another walk. The view from my neighborhood is so beautiful!

Thanksgiving day I spent some time vacuuming and steaming the floors so I could put the tree up.

I had a panini for lunch! Peppered tofurkey, tomato, onion, daiya cheddar cheese, and just mayo.

Lando making sure I set the tree up correctly.

Thanksgiving day we decorated the house, watched Christmas movies, and then for Thanksgiving supper we went out to eat at Golden Corral. Almost every Thanksgiving we go out to eat at a buffet restaurant. It's just easier that way so I don't have to spend hours cooking and then cleaning dishes when it's just the two of us.

Our tree next to the fire place looks so cozy.

On Black Friday we never go out shopping. Instead, we decorate the outside of the house! Friday I got all the lights up. Saturday and Sunday I did spend some time outside making some minor adjustments such as changing the location of the solar panels for the solar lights and changing the placements of the lawn ornaments.

Externship Update

It has been a little over a month since I started my externship! I have learned so much in the last 5 weeks and I'm excited to learn so much more. I really hope I get hired at my externship site. They have been hinting at hiring me and a few things have been said but nothing official has been said yet. If I don't get hired there I'm still thankful for the opportunity and am sure I'll get hired somewhere in the area. Since the externship started I have progressed more than I thought I would. Things I didn't think I'd be doing right now but am: *sending out samples for results *doing some callbacks to see how patients are doing *taking a client and patient to a room and then getting a history and TPR on my own *drawing blood *monitoring in patients and patients coming out of surgery I still have more ways to go but I am really proud of all my accomplishments so far. I will be publishing an official post once I'm done with my results but I just wanted

Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run

Today my husband and I completed the Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run! We got there at 07:30 bright and early. Before we went I ate a little bit of fruit and packed some things we might need (lots of towels, baby wipes, eye drops, snacks for afterwards, water, and electrolytes). I really enjoyed myself and it was empowering to accomplish it! Jake and I did it together all the way through. I'm so thankful that I have such an amazing husband that is so patient with me and helped me all the way through the event. The event was just short of 6 miles. It had over ten obstacles and included mud pits and a run through the woods that was very muddy! At the end we got some free water, Gatorade, fruit, snacks, and beer! I was very surprised but my Fitbit Surge held up pretty well! The only thing is when we got sprayed with water at the end, the force of the water must have hit one of the buttons and it turned off my Fitbit. That was as we were crossing the finis

Arizona 2.0

Since I've last posted there have been a few major changes and events that have happened. I have vacationed in the Bahamas, we have moved to Arizona, have bought a house, and have donated my hair. I've been meaning to update this blog for a while but now here I am watching Rome, drinking some cranberry juice, and typing on my laptop. Jake got a position in Southern Arizona as a contractor so we moved here and decided to buy a house. We looked at houses online for about a month before we found this one. It had everything we wanted in a house which was difficult to find. We did a virtual tour before deciding to put down an offer. It was accepted! Then we flew out to Arizona to walk through the home twice before going back to Tennessee and packing up all our stuff. After three days and both mine and Jake's cars breaking down in Texas we finally made it to Arizona. We lived out of a hotel for about a month. Because we were staying there so long, we received a special ra
