Finishing School, Yard Work, and Getting Back Into Running

I'm hoping to get back into the weekly recaps now that I have finished the academic portion of my schooling. Yes, that's right! I've finished the academic portion of my studies and now it's just time for my clinical studies! Last week I finished my last exam and this past week I've been updating my resume, making cover letters, getting paperwork together, and going into the veterinary hospitals and clinics in my area.

So I figured what great way to celebrate this achievement by sitting down with a cup of coffee and writing a little blog post.

Let's take this post back to last Monday, the 14th of August.

Monday was a pretty great day considering it is when I took my final exam! I got a 96%. Even though I got one question wrong and could prove that I answered correctly with my textbook I'm still pretty happy with my grade. I also uploaded a new vlog on my youtube channel of my previous week while eating breakfast outside with the kitties. After having breakfast and studying I went to my my midwife appointment for my Paragard check up. We went over a few concerns I had about my last menstrual cycle and she gave me some different options to try. I'll be going over that in another post. After my appointment I took my final Exam, and as you know I got a 96%!

You know it's summer when your fur-babies are shedding this much.

Tuesday I started to get back into running again! I even filmed a bit of my route and the foods I ate. I will be starting a running series on my youtube channel soon. After running I spent some time doing yard work. There's so much to do. I'm still not done yet and I feel like I've been working on it forever.

This was only part of the weeds I pulled up. Monsoon season is making our yard a jungle lol.

Later on I spent some time with the kitties while cleaning.

The rest of the week I spent running, cleaning, taking care of the kitties, and relaxing after a year of studying. Jake got me a new game, Witcher 3, and I became addicted.

The past weekend we had beautiful weather and a nice breeze came in. We were actually able to turn off the A/C and open all the windows. I know my utility bill will thank me. :)

Lando enjoying the nice breeze in the guest room.

A beautiful sunset.

Sunday was a nice relaxing day. Jake and I ordered food, played some games, and the fur-babies had some fun too.

Externship Update

It has been a little over a month since I started my externship! I have learned so much in the last 5 weeks and I'm excited to learn so much more. I really hope I get hired at my externship site. They have been hinting at hiring me and a few things have been said but nothing official has been said yet. If I don't get hired there I'm still thankful for the opportunity and am sure I'll get hired somewhere in the area. Since the externship started I have progressed more than I thought I would. Things I didn't think I'd be doing right now but am: *sending out samples for results *doing some callbacks to see how patients are doing *taking a client and patient to a room and then getting a history and TPR on my own *drawing blood *monitoring in patients and patients coming out of surgery I still have more ways to go but I am really proud of all my accomplishments so far. I will be publishing an official post once I'm done with my results but I just wanted

Arizona 2.0

Since I've last posted there have been a few major changes and events that have happened. I have vacationed in the Bahamas, we have moved to Arizona, have bought a house, and have donated my hair. I've been meaning to update this blog for a while but now here I am watching Rome, drinking some cranberry juice, and typing on my laptop. Jake got a position in Southern Arizona as a contractor so we moved here and decided to buy a house. We looked at houses online for about a month before we found this one. It had everything we wanted in a house which was difficult to find. We did a virtual tour before deciding to put down an offer. It was accepted! Then we flew out to Arizona to walk through the home twice before going back to Tennessee and packing up all our stuff. After three days and both mine and Jake's cars breaking down in Texas we finally made it to Arizona. We lived out of a hotel for about a month. Because we were staying there so long, we received a special ra
