Behavioral Contract 9 June- 7 July

Even though I made a workout plan I am still falling a little behind in my training so I decided to make a behavioral contract with myself. A behavioral contract can help you when you are making lifestyle changes and it sets up a reward system for adopting new behaviors. Once the goal is met (or the contract expires) another must take its place for the program to be effective. This will not contain everything that is in a typical behavioral contract since I am the client and the trainer.

I will:

  • Perform Cardio-respiratory Training / Resistance Training
  • On weekdays
  • 3-5 days per week                         / 2 days per week
  • 20-30 minutes at RPE of 4-5          / body weight

How confident am I that I can do this? 8
(1- not confident, 10 completely confident)

If I successfully make this lifestyle change by 7 July, I will reward myself with a new beauty product.
If I fail to successfully make this lifestyle change I will forfeit this reward.

I am very excited for my reward. I'm thinking of maybe getting a powder from BeautiControl. I just recently got SPF from them and am waiting on my shipment of makeup to come in. It's great quality and doesn't make me break out.

Well now its time for me to get some yard work in. There may be a post on that later today or tomorrow.

Externship Update

It has been a little over a month since I started my externship! I have learned so much in the last 5 weeks and I'm excited to learn so much more. I really hope I get hired at my externship site. They have been hinting at hiring me and a few things have been said but nothing official has been said yet. If I don't get hired there I'm still thankful for the opportunity and am sure I'll get hired somewhere in the area. Since the externship started I have progressed more than I thought I would. Things I didn't think I'd be doing right now but am: *sending out samples for results *doing some callbacks to see how patients are doing *taking a client and patient to a room and then getting a history and TPR on my own *drawing blood *monitoring in patients and patients coming out of surgery I still have more ways to go but I am really proud of all my accomplishments so far. I will be publishing an official post once I'm done with my results but I just wanted

Arizona 2.0

Since I've last posted there have been a few major changes and events that have happened. I have vacationed in the Bahamas, we have moved to Arizona, have bought a house, and have donated my hair. I've been meaning to update this blog for a while but now here I am watching Rome, drinking some cranberry juice, and typing on my laptop. Jake got a position in Southern Arizona as a contractor so we moved here and decided to buy a house. We looked at houses online for about a month before we found this one. It had everything we wanted in a house which was difficult to find. We did a virtual tour before deciding to put down an offer. It was accepted! Then we flew out to Arizona to walk through the home twice before going back to Tennessee and packing up all our stuff. After three days and both mine and Jake's cars breaking down in Texas we finally made it to Arizona. We lived out of a hotel for about a month. Because we were staying there so long, we received a special ra

Finishing School, Yard Work, and Getting Back Into Running

I'm hoping to get back into the weekly recaps now that I have finished the academic portion of my schooling. Yes, that's right! I've finished the academic portion of my studies and now it's just time for my clinical studies! Last week I finished my last exam and this past week I've been updating my resume, making cover letters, getting paperwork together, and going into the veterinary hospitals and clinics in my area. So I figured what great way to celebrate this achievement by sitting down with a cup of coffee and writing a little blog post. Let's take this post back to last Monday, the 14th of August. Monday was a pretty great day considering it is when I took my final exam! I got a 96%. Even though I got one question wrong and could prove that I answered correctly with my textbook I'm still pretty happy with my grade. I also uploaded a new vlog on my youtube channel of my previous week while eating breakfast outside with the kitti
