Christmas Favorites | Blogmas #5

Welcome to Blogmas Day 5! I hope everyone's week is off to a fantastic start! If you want to participate in the Christmas Fitness Challenge it starts today! Click here to read up on the challenge

Today I'm going to be going over some stuff I've been using recently and loving.

I just recently got this hand creme as a gift and it is amazing! It smells like vanilla with peppermint and it works so well. Living in Arizona has made my hands very dry no matter how much water I drink. It has been really hard to find a hand creme or lotion to actually work where I won't have to reapply it every hour. You only have to use a very small amount of this hand creme and it lasts quite a while. It's from Beauticontrol and I think the scent "Minty Marshmallow" is only out for the holiday season.

The Twisted Peppermint body spray is what I've been using all holiday season. It smells like Christmas and completely gets me in the holiday spirit every morning.

This tea is amazing! I have it at least once a day! It is Cinnamon Apple Spice from Celestial Teas. Usually I have to put some agave or stevia in my tea but not with this one! It's that good.

Another holiday drink I've been loving is the Vanilla Chai Spice Almond Nog from Almond Breeze. I've been trying to find a good egg and dairy free nog this season that didn't taste so plain. This hit the spot. Now it does taste a bit different (I always say to never expect it to taste like the original) but it is so good. I'd say it's even better than egg nog.

Now this isn't even the slightest bit healthy and I know I'm posting this on day 1 of the fitness challenge but I think with some self control I can enjoy these this holiday season. I normally don't get the limited edition oreos but I thought I'd give these peppermint ones a try since well... they're peppermint. I'm glad I did because these are dangerously good!

Again, these are not healthy for you but they're so Christmas-y! They don't taste any different but they have cute little Christmas shapes like stockings, stars, and Christmas trees! I love Cap N' Crunch as a treat and I saw these at the store so I grabbed them.

My new candle I've been loving is from Better Homes at Walmart. The scent is Fresh Cut Frasier and it smells just like I have a real tree in my living room rather than an artificial one.

Last but definitely not least is our new advent candle. We got this one with Amazon Prime. We've never had an advent candle before and we decided to get one this year. Jake and I both love it and I think it will become a tradition to do every year.

Externship Update

It has been a little over a month since I started my externship! I have learned so much in the last 5 weeks and I'm excited to learn so much more. I really hope I get hired at my externship site. They have been hinting at hiring me and a few things have been said but nothing official has been said yet. If I don't get hired there I'm still thankful for the opportunity and am sure I'll get hired somewhere in the area. Since the externship started I have progressed more than I thought I would. Things I didn't think I'd be doing right now but am: *sending out samples for results *doing some callbacks to see how patients are doing *taking a client and patient to a room and then getting a history and TPR on my own *drawing blood *monitoring in patients and patients coming out of surgery I still have more ways to go but I am really proud of all my accomplishments so far. I will be publishing an official post once I'm done with my results but I just wanted

Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run

Today my husband and I completed the Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run! We got there at 07:30 bright and early. Before we went I ate a little bit of fruit and packed some things we might need (lots of towels, baby wipes, eye drops, snacks for afterwards, water, and electrolytes). I really enjoyed myself and it was empowering to accomplish it! Jake and I did it together all the way through. I'm so thankful that I have such an amazing husband that is so patient with me and helped me all the way through the event. The event was just short of 6 miles. It had over ten obstacles and included mud pits and a run through the woods that was very muddy! At the end we got some free water, Gatorade, fruit, snacks, and beer! I was very surprised but my Fitbit Surge held up pretty well! The only thing is when we got sprayed with water at the end, the force of the water must have hit one of the buttons and it turned off my Fitbit. That was as we were crossing the finis

Arizona 2.0

Since I've last posted there have been a few major changes and events that have happened. I have vacationed in the Bahamas, we have moved to Arizona, have bought a house, and have donated my hair. I've been meaning to update this blog for a while but now here I am watching Rome, drinking some cranberry juice, and typing on my laptop. Jake got a position in Southern Arizona as a contractor so we moved here and decided to buy a house. We looked at houses online for about a month before we found this one. It had everything we wanted in a house which was difficult to find. We did a virtual tour before deciding to put down an offer. It was accepted! Then we flew out to Arizona to walk through the home twice before going back to Tennessee and packing up all our stuff. After three days and both mine and Jake's cars breaking down in Texas we finally made it to Arizona. We lived out of a hotel for about a month. Because we were staying there so long, we received a special ra
