Christmas Home Tour | Blogmas #2

Welcome to Blogmas day two! Today I'm going to be taking you on a Christmas home tour. I've seen these done as a vlog and just love them so I figured I would try to do it in a blog.

Welcome to our home!

The wreath I made myself a few years ago and every season I change the decorations on it (besides the "D" for Duerrwaechter).

In front of the fire is Lando's favorite spot when it's on so I made it comfy for him. Don't worry the cat bed and blanket aren't close enough to catch on fire.

I bought one of the cheapest garland pieces, folded it in half, and added some lights I found in storage. Looks almost the same but less than half the price!

This year we are starting a new tradition. We bought an advent candle and are lighting it every day together.

Lando has been loving the lights, garland, and ornaments, especially the ones on our table.

Yes, I even decorated the laundry room and guest bathroom a little. I think I bought this garland at the dollar tree (or maybe Walmart?) two or three years ago. I've been using it ever since.

I added my Christmas decorative pillows to the bed in the guest room. I made them myself.

This is Lando's favorite blanket. Ever since he was a kitten he would suck and knead on it. I leave it out year round for him.

I bought the wreath about four years ago on sale from Joann Fabrics and last year I bought two wooden letters and painted them to look like candy canes. I think it turned out pretty nice so I hung them up again this year.

I love this set up. The Noel piece I made with spray paint, wine bottles, and a pizza box! haha.

When I first put the garland on the stairs I thought it looked a little plain so I used some bows. I think it looks even more festive with them on.

In our master bedroom I hung up my advent calendar from when I was growing up. My Mom sent it to me because I was getting home sick about four years ago and I hang it up every year. I have so many good memories with this calendar.

This is the first tree Jake and I ever bought together. I put it in the bedroom because it was too small for our living room this year.

I love that we have a little breakfast station in the bedroom.

Lando making sure he gets in some of my shots of the bedroom. I love him so much. Look how comfy he is in the new bedding!

These are some of the solar lights we bought on sale after Christmas last year.

Jake surprised me with this cat playing with an ornament. It's so cute.
I also love that we can see some of our lawn ornaments from the balcony.

I love how you can see our tree through the front door! Even though lately it has been getting colder and we can't keep the front door open. It's difficult to see in the picture but we also have an LED projector that displays snowflakes on our porch.

Here is the other set of solar lights we bought last year.

Here is the other LED display and the LED candles are light in the windows.

On our side yard we have another LED light show, LED candles in the windows, and reindeer that move! I bought the reindeer after Christmas three years ago half off! I love them.

I hope you enjoyed my house tour!

Externship Update

It has been a little over a month since I started my externship! I have learned so much in the last 5 weeks and I'm excited to learn so much more. I really hope I get hired at my externship site. They have been hinting at hiring me and a few things have been said but nothing official has been said yet. If I don't get hired there I'm still thankful for the opportunity and am sure I'll get hired somewhere in the area. Since the externship started I have progressed more than I thought I would. Things I didn't think I'd be doing right now but am: *sending out samples for results *doing some callbacks to see how patients are doing *taking a client and patient to a room and then getting a history and TPR on my own *drawing blood *monitoring in patients and patients coming out of surgery I still have more ways to go but I am really proud of all my accomplishments so far. I will be publishing an official post once I'm done with my results but I just wanted

Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run

Today my husband and I completed the Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run! We got there at 07:30 bright and early. Before we went I ate a little bit of fruit and packed some things we might need (lots of towels, baby wipes, eye drops, snacks for afterwards, water, and electrolytes). I really enjoyed myself and it was empowering to accomplish it! Jake and I did it together all the way through. I'm so thankful that I have such an amazing husband that is so patient with me and helped me all the way through the event. The event was just short of 6 miles. It had over ten obstacles and included mud pits and a run through the woods that was very muddy! At the end we got some free water, Gatorade, fruit, snacks, and beer! I was very surprised but my Fitbit Surge held up pretty well! The only thing is when we got sprayed with water at the end, the force of the water must have hit one of the buttons and it turned off my Fitbit. That was as we were crossing the finis

Arizona 2.0

Since I've last posted there have been a few major changes and events that have happened. I have vacationed in the Bahamas, we have moved to Arizona, have bought a house, and have donated my hair. I've been meaning to update this blog for a while but now here I am watching Rome, drinking some cranberry juice, and typing on my laptop. Jake got a position in Southern Arizona as a contractor so we moved here and decided to buy a house. We looked at houses online for about a month before we found this one. It had everything we wanted in a house which was difficult to find. We did a virtual tour before deciding to put down an offer. It was accepted! Then we flew out to Arizona to walk through the home twice before going back to Tennessee and packing up all our stuff. After three days and both mine and Jake's cars breaking down in Texas we finally made it to Arizona. We lived out of a hotel for about a month. Because we were staying there so long, we received a special ra
