Christmas Haul | Blogmas #1

Welcome to the first day of Blogmas!! I'm so excited to be doing this this year! I will be doing one post every day up until Christmas! I will try to make it a bit interesting with doing different kind of posts rather than just my typical re-cap posts. I hope you enjoy!

Today I'm going to go over my Christmas Haul this year! We usually get Christmas decorations right after Christmas for the next year because that is when they are the cheapest but since moving into our new house (which is larger than our last house) it seemed like our Christmas decorations weren't taking up the house and it seemed a bit bare. I decided to get some stuff over the past few weeks. It's mostly from Walmart but there are some garage sale items.

I got three garland sets. Two were pre-lit and one was not. I put the prelight ones on the staircase and around the front door. For the mantle I just grabbed one of the cheaper ones and folded it in half to make it thicker. I tied it together with some garland ties, the same ones I used to tie the garland to the staircase.

We already have a tree that we've been using for a few years now but it's only six feet tall and looks weird with our vaulted ceiling in the living room. So we decided to get a taller tree. This one is nine feet and it was half off at Hobby Lobby! I just love the pinecones on it. :)

Since we got another tree we needed some more ornaments. Jake picked these out and they're really pretty. Plus, they're shatterproof which we need because glass ornaments, tile floors, and a cat is never a good combination.

I got this ribbon from a garage sale to wrap around the tree.

I also got this Christmas village from a garage sale! It was a great price. You can't tell from the picture that much but it lights up and is gorgeous at night.

Jake picked up this cat for me as a surprise! It is a little bit smaller than I originally thought it was going to be but it is still so cute!

I also got a set of light up mini trees to put on both sides of the front door, and a set of bells to put at the top of the door. The bells don't ring but they look nice. :)

Since we have a corner lot we decided to get these LED light projections to put on the sides of the house. So we have one on the front porch wall, one on the front wall, and the large one on the side of the house.

I think that is everything I bought this year. Last year we bought some LED and solar lights after Christmas.

I hope you enjoyed day one of blogmas!

Externship Update

It has been a little over a month since I started my externship! I have learned so much in the last 5 weeks and I'm excited to learn so much more. I really hope I get hired at my externship site. They have been hinting at hiring me and a few things have been said but nothing official has been said yet. If I don't get hired there I'm still thankful for the opportunity and am sure I'll get hired somewhere in the area. Since the externship started I have progressed more than I thought I would. Things I didn't think I'd be doing right now but am: *sending out samples for results *doing some callbacks to see how patients are doing *taking a client and patient to a room and then getting a history and TPR on my own *drawing blood *monitoring in patients and patients coming out of surgery I still have more ways to go but I am really proud of all my accomplishments so far. I will be publishing an official post once I'm done with my results but I just wanted

Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run

Today my husband and I completed the Warrior Challenge Obstacle Course and Mud Run! We got there at 07:30 bright and early. Before we went I ate a little bit of fruit and packed some things we might need (lots of towels, baby wipes, eye drops, snacks for afterwards, water, and electrolytes). I really enjoyed myself and it was empowering to accomplish it! Jake and I did it together all the way through. I'm so thankful that I have such an amazing husband that is so patient with me and helped me all the way through the event. The event was just short of 6 miles. It had over ten obstacles and included mud pits and a run through the woods that was very muddy! At the end we got some free water, Gatorade, fruit, snacks, and beer! I was very surprised but my Fitbit Surge held up pretty well! The only thing is when we got sprayed with water at the end, the force of the water must have hit one of the buttons and it turned off my Fitbit. That was as we were crossing the finis

Arizona 2.0

Since I've last posted there have been a few major changes and events that have happened. I have vacationed in the Bahamas, we have moved to Arizona, have bought a house, and have donated my hair. I've been meaning to update this blog for a while but now here I am watching Rome, drinking some cranberry juice, and typing on my laptop. Jake got a position in Southern Arizona as a contractor so we moved here and decided to buy a house. We looked at houses online for about a month before we found this one. It had everything we wanted in a house which was difficult to find. We did a virtual tour before deciding to put down an offer. It was accepted! Then we flew out to Arizona to walk through the home twice before going back to Tennessee and packing up all our stuff. After three days and both mine and Jake's cars breaking down in Texas we finally made it to Arizona. We lived out of a hotel for about a month. Because we were staying there so long, we received a special ra
